Applications open for SDG innovation lab at Singapore UNLEASH

UNLEASH is a global innovation lab, bringing together 1,000 young talents from across the world to collaborate on solutions to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Those interested in applying for the program have until February 15 to get their paperwork in.
This year’s UNLEASH will be held in Singapore from May 30 through June 6. The program advances the work done during the inaugural year in Denmark, where UNLEASH participants developed 197 ideas to help countries and communities implement the SDGs.
“We each have a valuable contribution to make to sustainable development,” said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, as Denmark passed the UNLEASH torch to his nation. “We must fulfill the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, for the next generation to have a brighter and more resilient future. … This gathering of young, creative and innovative minds will harness the power of human ingenuity, to create imaginative solutions that achieve the SDGs.”
Participants form teams in a rapid innovation process, supported by leading experts and companies, that helps to refine their real-world approach to a specific SDG challenge. Top teams advance to pitch investors and experts, while building relationships with companies, NGOs, government agencies, investors and foundations representing potential funding partners.
The UNLEASH program also welcomes mentors and partner organizations, including Africa Educational Trust and Shelter Afrique, to support and advance the mission.
