Pholile Shakantu

Shakantu is an attorney with over 20 years’ legal experience in corporate and private practice. She worked in the areas of commercial law, commercial litigation, structuring and negotiating business transactions, drafting transactional documents, advising multinational clients, regulation and compliance, corporate governance, managing joint venture agreements and dispute resolution. Shakantu has vast experience in the telecommunications and regulatory space, having worked for a mobile company for 12 years at an executive in legal, regulatory, corporate affairs and sales and distribution. She also has experience in handling complex commercial litigation in local and foreign jurisdictions including the International Court of Justice (ICC). Shakantu has served as a member of the Judicial Service Commission and has also served as Deputy Chairman of the Elections and Boundaries Commission. She is currently the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of Eswatini.
