Kwame Asante trained as a laboratory technician in Kumasi and spent six years running quality control for a water utility before moving into reporting. At Africa Times he covers science and public health, with a focus on research produced by African universities and on how clinical trials are run on the continent. He keeps a vegetable plot on his roof in Accra and reports on its failures to anyone who asks.
